Vincent Wilt was born in Rahway and has been a Westfield resident more than 30 years, where he resides with his wife and raised three sons. Wilt is a former real estate attorney who now develops real estate throughout New Jersey, including several notable projects in Hoboken and Jersey City.

Wilt has been an active volunteer in his community for more than 30 years, from coaching soccer and wrestling to serving as president of the Westfield Jaycees and Westfield Boosters. He has served on the boards of the Westfield Y and Westfield/Mountainside Red Cross and currently chairs the Westfield Planning Board, Wilt served 11 years on the Westfield Board of Adjustment. He earned a law degree from George Mason University School of Law and an undergraduate degree from Lehigh University.
