Rene Gonzalez is the founder and creative director of Bambino Chef, a cooking studio in Jersey City which provides cooking classes for children, birthday parties, camps, field trips and after school enrichment program specializing in healthy cooking. Rene is a certified chef as well as Certified Youth Nutrition Specialist. Her work and Bambino Chef have been featured on NBC, ABC, FOX5, NEWS12, Good Housekeeping, Jersey Journal, Village Voice and other outlets. Rene resides with her family in Jersey City where her 3 children attend a local public school. Each year Bambino Chef hosts and sponsors an annual lemonade stand with all proceeds donated to local pantries and also several sandwich making events for local shelters. Rene has also created a scholarship program to allow children from low income families to attend cooking classes. In addition to serving on board of Youth Foundation of Jersey City, Rene Gonzalez is also part of the HDSID board. Prior to opening Bambino Chef, she was leading a career in Finance in investment research and portfolio management (Rene graduated with degree in International Relations/Finance). She has also spent some time working in the non profit field with Medicines Sans Frontieres / Doctors Without Borders. Rene speaks 6 languages which comes in handy living in a multicultural area such as Jersey City.
